Your health truly is everything.
Why wait until a chronic or serious health issue hits you like a ton of bricks?
When it comes to your health small daily investments can pay big dividends in the long run.
Remember, the only way to experience ageless beauty and everything life has to offer is through optimal health.
These tips are so easy anyone can master them.
Yes it turns out, eating an apple a day can really keep the doctor away, and now we know why.
Apples contain malic and tartaric acids which help remove impurities and toxins from the liver and the gallbladder.
When the liver becomes overwhelmed with toxins it can no longer keep up, and toxins can flood into body.
Symptoms of a toxic Liver include:
- Chronic Fatigue
- Mood Swings
- Inability to lose weight
- Dull looking skin
Apples also contain pectin, a gel-like fiber that can prevent putrification of protein in the digestive tract. Here in America where the average diet is high in animal protein and low on fresh fruits and vegetables, there is an epidemic of rotted, undigested protein in the digestive tract which can lead to cancer.
Apple pectin has also been shown to bind with radioactive residues and toxic heavy metals such as lead and mercury.
Apple Pectin even has the ability to limit the amount of fat our adipose cells can absorb, making them a great weight loss food.
An Apple a day is a fantastic way to gently detox every day.
By now just about everyone knows about the amazing benefits of Coconut oil.
I personally roast vegetables in coconut oil, I make homemade toothpaste with it and I even put coconut oil in my morning coffee because it supports the adrenals.
There is a new and simple way to use coconut oil that may help prevent memory loss.
Use coconut oil as a body lotion every day.
Dr. Mary Newport was the first to discover the benefits of coconut oil for dementia and alzheimers. She began feeding it to her husband who was suffering from alzheimers and saw amazing improvements.
Experts believe that alzheimers and memory loss may be a result of the brain no longer being able to use glucose as an energy source. Many experts are now calling Alzheimer’s Type 3 diabetes and an insulin resistance problem.
Ketones which are in coconut oil are an alternate form of energy for the brain.
Boosting ketone levels has been shown to improve cognitive function.
Coconut oil continues to produce better results for Alzheimers patients than any drug on the market.
Yes you can eat coconut oil to get more ketones, but slathering it on your skin works as well. What you put on your skin, including coconut oil gets in your blood stream. The blood then delivers the ketones from the coconut oil to the liver and then to the brain.
According to some experts, coconut oil continues to produce better results for Alzheimers patients than any drug on the market today.
Why wait until you have memory issues to get started on coconut oil? It’s a fantastic pure, toxic free skin moisturizer and one of the easiest, most beneficial things you can do for your long term health.
Just make sure the coconut oil you use is:
- Cold Pressed
(Costco’s coconut oil is the best bang for your buck)
Herbs have been used since the beginning of time for their medicinal benefits.
They also can turn a bland every day meal into a gourmet wonder.
To get the full nutritional benefit herbs have to offer, you must buy them fresh or grow them yourself. These days it’s not that hard. Many grocery stores offer potted herbs that you can place near a window in the kitchen.
Since learning about the amazing health boosting properties of herbs, I have developed an every day habit of including them in soups, salads, omelets, grilled and roasted meats and sprinkled on vegetables.
My personal favorite is to take a handful of 5 or 6 different fresh herbs, finely chop them, place in a bowl and add olive oil. This is my version of a chimichura sauce.
I put it on grilled meat, chicken or fish. It is also makes a fantastic spread for bread.
There are many herbs you can use, my favorites include:
Rosemary – Contains a high concentration of the antioxidant carnosol which research shows may benefit cancer treatment. Water boiled with Rosemary can be used as an antiseptic.
Thyme – contains a potent antioxidant called thymol. It can be added to bathwater to treat infections and can be added to water and swished in the mouth to get rid of gum infections.
Cilantro – is a natural heavy metal detoxer. Eating a ¼ cup of cilantro is a powerful and natural way to rid the body of heavy metals that can cause memory issues and even cancer.
Basil – has anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties and can help prevent osteoarthritis. It is even being studied for it’s anti cancer properties.
Sage – antioxidant compounds found in sage such as rosmarinic acid, luteolin, and apigenin work to neutralize free radicals and reduce inflammation.
Chives –contains many antioxidants that help destroy free radicals and discourage the growth of cancer cells and tumors. Chives also contain the nutrient allicin which is believed to contribute to lower cholesterol and blood pressure.
Ginger is another herb I consume on a daily basis: It has been shown to be just as effective at killing cancer as chemotherapy. The good news is that it does not harm healthy cells like chemo does. You can juice it, throw an inch or two in to your smoothies and blend. I also like to thinly slice it and add it to my drinking water.
Vitamin D fights infections, including colds and the flu. It even regulates the expression of genes that influence your immune system to attach and destroy bacteria and viruses.
Most people who get cancer are deficient in Vitamin D3. In fact you can do every thing right…eat well, exercise, get plenty of sleep, but if your Vitamin D3 levels are low then your immune system is weak.
A weak immune system is the cause of most every health issue you can name.
Normally you would get all the Vitamin D3 you need from the sun. But more and more people are working inside all day and if they are outside they are slathering sun screen on.
I believe the best way to get your Vitamin D3 is to sit in the sun for 15 – 20 minutes several times a week, but that is not possible for many people.
How much Vitamin D3 do you need?
Western medicine will tell you that you are in the normal range if you are around 30 ng/ml (nanograms/milliliter) The alternative world says that you really need to be between 60-90 ng/ml to have a strong enough immune system to get well from chronic health issues.
You must get your levels checked once or twice a year. If you are below 60, you can take a supplement. I personally like Designs for Health Vitamin D3 Supreme. This is a professional brand that also contains Vitamin K1 and K2 to help with absorption.
You must go back to your health care provider 12 weeks later and get tested because, although rare, you can reach toxic levels of vitamin D.
What is Glutithione? Glutithione is a master antioxidant that every cell in the body produces. It plays a crucial role in detoxing environmental toxins, while helping the immune system fight disease.
Most people have a deficiency due to:
- Chronic stress
- Genetically Modified foods (GMOs)
- Environmental Toxins
- Artificial Sweeteners
- Overuse of Antibiotics
- Radiation therapy
When we were getting my husband well from cancer, our alternative doctor, Dr. Issels explained that our bodies were not designed to keep up with the huge amounts of environmental toxins, pesticides, food preservatives, GMOs and artificial ingredients that we are exposed to on a daily basis. When toxins accumulate in the body, they can weaken the immune system.
He says that “everyone could benefit from boosting their glutathione levels” which assist the body in gently detoxing harmful toxins on a daily basis.
A growing number of researchers are now crediting the increase in neurological disease and cancer to glutathione deficiency.
It certainly makes sense. If you don’t detox heavy metals out of the body they tend to migrate to fatty areas of the body. The brain contains the biggest concentration of fatty tissue.
Jeremy Appleton, ND – chairman of the department of nutrition at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon:
“If you look in a hospital situation at people who have cancer, AIDS, or other very serious disease, almost invariably they are depleted in glutathione. The reasons for this are not completely understood, but we do know that glutathione is extremely important for maintaining intracellular health.”
Longevity researchers believe that the amount of Glutithione you have in your cells is directly related to how long you will live.
Plenty of sulfur from sulfur rich foods are required for optimal Glutithione levels.
Sulfur rich foods include:
- Brussel Sprouts
You can also supplement with Organic Sulfur Crystals.
A variety of foods will also help the body produce more glutathione.
- Garbanzo beans (chickpeas, hummus)
